Epperstone - situated in a Nottinghamshire Conservation Area

Welcome to Epperstone village website. Epperstone is a small conservation village between Nottingham and the minster town of Southwell. The last census in March 2011 recorded a population of 589.  Nottingham is approximately nine miles away and has an excellent range of shopping and recreational facilities, including two shopping malls, an ice rink, many theatres and a wide range of restaurants.

The nearest primary school in the area is in the village of Lowdham, about 1 mile away, and Colonel Frank Seely secondary school  is in Calverton about 1 and a half miles away. As Epperstone is in the catchment area for these schools, both offer school bus transport. There are other out-of-catchment primary schools in the nearby villages of Calverton and Woodborough, and the Minster Secondary School is in Southwell which is about 7 miles away. Links to these schools can be found on the 'Other Resources' page of this website.

There is a railway station in the nearby village of Lowdham which links to Lincoln and Nottingham.

The M1 is approximately seventeen miles away.

East Midlands airport is approximately 25 miles away.

Proceed out of Nottingham in a north easterly direction towards Southwell on the A612. Continue to the roundabout at Lowdham and take the first exit onto the A6097 to Doncaster. Proceed for approximately 2 miles and turn right opposite the garage on the left. The turning is signposted Epperstone. Proceed along Lowdham Road to the T - junction. Main Street is to the left and Gonalston Lane to the right.

Please Note:

Dear Clerk to Epperstone PC,

I work for Severn Trent and wanted to let you know that we will be holding a public exhibition in Epperstone next week to talk to the local community about our plans to install a new water pipe. You may recall the awful burst main that affected the area in February 2016, the work starting this Autumn will see a new pipe installed in farmland around the village meaning we can take the old pipe out of service – removing the risk of it happening again.

The exhibition is being held in The Epperstone Village Hall on 21 September 4 -7pm. I would be very grateful if you could pass on the invite to your councillors and wider community.

I also plan on delivering invite letters this week.

Happy to provide additional information if required.
